A good detailing of the history of the Warlock class within the game, including from when we went from being a free kill to being overpowered... which I didn't know how happened.

Here we are in the first week of 2008 - an opportune time to look back on the past year, when memories of being fear-dotted to death are still vivid. If warlocks owned 2006 since skillcoil, then 2007 was the year that warlocks became just so OP with every nerf.

In the next major content patch, the combat rating, resilience, will also reduce the damage dealt by damage over time (DoT) effects. As it currently stands, each new tier of equipment adds to the amount of damage DoT abilities have, yet that damage is not mitigated through combat ratings found on typical equipment. This change will help ensure that DoT effects do not scale too well compared to other damage mechanics.

The amount of damage reduced will be equal to the critical chance reduction effect that resilience grants.
Everyone talks about the worst Warlock demon names that they have encountered - the thing is that locks can't name their demons, instead the names are randomly generated from a list of sylables.

Warlocks, struggling to hit the infamous 3k crit shadowbolts that everyone seems to be always talking about?

This thread might provide some help on gear, trinkets and what you need to be proccing.

Interesting post over at WoW Insider on the Seed of Corruption level 70 Warlock spell. Seems pretty bad ass!

The final entrant in our series of easily abused Burning Crusade spells is the warlock's Seed of Corruption. According to Blizzard, this level 70 spell "imbeds a demon seed in the enemy target, causing 1044 Shadow damage over 18 sec. When the target takes 1044 total damage, the seed will inflict 1110 to 1290 Shadow damage to all enemies within 15 yards of the target." Beta testers have found that the "bomb" will also go off if the target dies with Seed of Corruption on them.

Noticed all the warlocks complaining lately on decreased damage from their dots on the PTR? Well it's official, Warlocks have been nerfed...

I just wanted to take some time to drop in and reassure people that the change to the dots is intentional as a part of ongoing balancing that we have been doing. It is not a bug.

Just so that everyone knows a bit more the approximate damage reduction is 10% for "Curse of Agony" and "Corruption" for the average Warlock.

Warlocks can't choose their pet names like hunters can (for some unknown reason). And as you can guess a few of them like to have a little cry about it because their pets might get assigned stupid names (I believe they get assigned when the lock summons their pet for the 1st time).

Anyway, here's a thread all about it...

I have never ever seen so many posts in the WoW forums calling for a nerf of one class - Warlocks! There is literally every 5th thread, something about Warlocks being overpowered etc. This story that I have linked to is just one of them, and if it is true, then something is fuct up.

PS: I'm currently levelling a lock on the side :D However, what do you think Blizz will do, give in to the all people moaning?

You have to ask yourself - where would Locks be without DeathCoil? It means they are basically relying on fear for a fight.

The guy makes some good points, but I dont think Locks are the weakest class.

A Felguard is the new Warlock pet that comes in the Burning Crusade - but does anyone know WTF is up with this pic? Who ever saw a pet with a main hand weapon that does 621.4 DPS?

I say again - WTF!?

Found this in the Druids section of the Wow forums (where it seems there is ALOT of warlock hating and nerf calls going on now...

Anyway, the video shows a Warlock grinding his ass off, non-stop, in tBC with the help of some random healer. He grinds non stop for like 18 minutes, on a shitload of mobs, with no downtime.

Lucky I'm currently levelling a Lock, they look set to OWN in tBC
