Seed of Corruption was way overpowered on the PTRs and Blizzard have now fixed it, but lumped the cost on Warlocks.

In "fixing" the Seed of Corruption issue that players discovered almost immediately after the PTRs came back online today, Blizzard decided it was best to blank all Warlock talents and abilities and require the class as a whole to re-train every single spell from scratch. The total cost? 350g. And that doesn't even take into account our pets, which were also wiped from our spell books and must be reacquired via their original quest lines - an unfortunate and unfair result to a problem Blizzard created.

Some nice tips on how to beat Warlocks in the Arena from WoW Insider.

You see a squat robed figure hobbling towards you from across the Arena. "A clothie!" you mutter, preparing yourself for some gnome punting. Your confidence wilts when you see that right behind the gnome is a bounding four-legged creature. "Argh, Warlock."

Blizzard are asking for input on how to fix Warlock demon/pet scaling issues. Like how they die so quickly in Raids etc.

We'll submit this as feedback. I'd like to hear more from others as well as to what they are experiencing and what they are looking for inparticular. Please keep posts as constructive as possible and organized so that it's easier to read through and pick out ideas that could be relayed.

Here's a good guide from WoW Insider on how to fear kite - not in PVP situations, but in PVE situations with a Warlock. You can use it to take down mobs of a much higher level than you!

Everyone talks about fear being overpowered in PvP, but that's not a discussion we're going to have today No, here we're going to talk about using Fear in PvE situations, where it can easily be just as useful. The main reason for this is that Fear in PvE isn't on diminishing returns. You can cast it until you run out of mana (though it costs 12% of your base mana per cast), and your target will never become immune. Compare this to Fear in PvP, where your target will become immune on your forth attempt to fear it. And while it has a chance of breaking on damage in both PvE and PvP, its maximum duration in PvE is twice as long as its PvP duration (at least it will be as of patch 2.2).

Death coil is about to get diminishing returns on itself - this means if it is cast multiple times on the same target the effect will be lessened. Seeing at its on a 2 minute timer and most PVP fights wont last that long this shouldnt be too much of an issue.

We're actually going to be updating the patch notes soon, with a new note indicating that Death Coil will now be subject to diminishing returns with itself, in the Horror category.

Currently, only Death Coil is in this category.

Straight from the horses mouth:

In an upcoming content patch (2.1.0) Warlocks will be able to use their succubus to seduce many humanoid creatures which are currently immune to charm effects.

An interesting post from WoW Insider who what the best team combo would be for 2v2 Arena PVP battles...

There is a lot of Warlocks and Rogues being mentioned. I guess its a stealth thing for the rogues.

At least DPS wise, Blizzard have taken out the damage coefficient for Imps because they were doing way too much DPS. So right now the only thing Imps are good for is the stamina buff!

The coefficient has been removed until we can get the proper spell damage fix into the game. When the coefficient was being applied incorrectly, utilizing talents created a dps output for the Imp which simply could not exist in the game without being a large and unintended advantage.

While the removal of the coefficient is somewhat extreme, it is a temporary measure. In a game state, it is no different than having your Imp on passive, so we are settling with that for now until we get the proper fix in.

Nice PVP video of some Warlock ownage.

For a destruction lock, every situation is a win/win situation. Between shadow ward, your felpuppy, a spellstone, and nether protection, you are invincible to affliction locks, priests (especially shadow priests), and mages. Getting attacked by a warrior, rogue, or feral druid equals free shadow bolts. Shadowfury, immolate, conflag, shadowburn, and searing pain have no travel time and leave no trail. Advice to druids and hunters: don't sic your pet or tree minions on a destruction warlock. Cat druids are an absolute joke since they proc backlashes like no other, and the felpuppy can see them stealthed a mile away.

Warlocks pets are going to vanish (and presumably not require a soul shard to reppear), when you get on a mount or use a flight path.

We intend to make a change so that Warlock pets will vanish when you mount and reappear when you dismount from flying mounts, regular mounts and even flight paths to help conserve the need to use soul shards to resummon.

This will most likely be in a future patch that we do however, we do not have a specific date as of yet. At current our testing is looking promising for this feature.

We will be implementing a hotfix this evening that temporarily removes the Warlock Imp’s spell damage coefficient as it was performing far in excess of our intention. This will remove any spell damage bonuses from improving the Imp’s attacks. We are currently on schedule to be implementing the correct values with the next patch. While we are able to effectively block the spell damage bonus with a hotfix it will require a client side patch to input the intended spell damage bonus the Imp is receiving.

Here's an interesting Warlock DPS calcluator. It only does level 70 spells though, which is a bummer for those of us taking it slowly!

Ybrith, of Rajaxx (Eu), has put together a lovely piece of theorycrafting apparatus. This warlock DPS calculator takes your stats and talent information, the length of the fights you're interested in, and a few strategy parameters, and comes up with your DPS over the length of the fight, as well as how fast you would be losing life. It seems to be geared towards the end-game, as it's based on level 70 spells and also not suited for calculating things like mana efficiency, which is important in leveling.

Recently i saw an enormous amount of posts regarding warlocks, deathcoil, and how overpowered and imbalanced warlocks are.

To help you fellow players, i've decided to write a guide, being a warlock myself, so that more people can succefully defeat warlocks on their server.
This will be a comprehensive guide containing images, spoilers, tactics, and tips to defeat this imba class.

For the purposes of this guide, i'll assume the warlock is Soul-link specced, since it is the most imbalanced build as people say.

Level 60 Warlock: Audiology
Guild: Beatdown Brigade
Spec: 10/0/41
Gear: Full Tier 2 (PvE) / 5 piece tier 2 and 2 piece Tier 3

This video is pushing the limits of Warlock PvP, be amazed as you watch SEVERAL 5k+ crits and a 6.6k+ crit as the icing on the cake. I hope everyone enjoys the video, i put a lot of time, effort and gold into making it. All opinions welcome as long as they are serious opinons. No haters plz.

I don't know what any of this means, but it looks like Warlocks dots are getting a big nerf currently in the PTRs!

Anyone on PTR notice that there seems to have been some changes made to the coefficients on our dots?

For example:

Corruption: Live - 301. PTR - 267
CoA: Live - 145 (first tick). PTR - 121
Hellfire: Live - 303. PTR - 332
RoF: Live - 379. PTR - 401
DS: Live - 411. PTR - 411

Note - These were done using the same 6/34/11 spec with the exact same gear.

Would be interested to see what results an aff lock has on PTR.
