Wanna know exactly how much the XP boosts are in the 2.3 patch? Well some guy is compiling a spreadsheet to work it out and needs you help!

Here is some new info on accelerated experience (which they are bringing in because going from 1 to 80 would just take toooo long).

I don't believe a percentage increase has been stated. Reputation has not been reduced relative to level difference since (I think) patch 2.0, and that applies to all reputation gains anywhere, not just starting areas. I don't think hunter pets will be an issue either.

There's no change to loot or quest rewards. I know some classes have higher training costs than others at some level gains, and if it looks like it's an issue we can make adjustments to those prices.

How are they going to make people level faster? Maybe increase the amount of rested XP bonus? Probably not...

We haven't said how we plan to make the gain of experience go faster. What you are making at this point is a suggestion of what you think we should do, which is fine if you wish, but we do have ideas of how we want to go about it that we'll fill everyone in on at a later point in time.

"Now" is never a really good time frame for us. ;) When you say "now", you generally mean, today, right now, this moment. We're not ready for "now" right now. We'll get it in though, later, which could be sooner to a degree than late later, but we shall see how it goes.

Blizzard's plans to speed up the old Azeroth leveling experience 1-58 have been pretty vague so far, about some additions to Dustwallow Marsh and some kind of general speed increase at some point in the future. Exactly when "pre-expansion" this will be isn't clear of course, but it's nice to know it shouldn't take as long as some had feared.

Here's a very very interesting forum topic - should you lose XP when you die?

Alot of players argue that the penalty for dying is already enough (for me the penalty isnt the 10% gear damage it's the run back to the corpse - BORING), but others want more of a penalty to make it harder to level in effect.

Ever wondered if the color that a quest is to you will effect the amount of XP it gives? Well it doesn't apparently, unless its grey!

But here's the thing, and this is something I had wrong: every quest you do gives exactly the same amount of XP, unless it's gray. If a quest gives 4000xp, it'll give 4000xp whether you do it at red, orange, yellow, or green. I had previously thought that a red quest would give more XP (because that's how it works with monsters-- higher level kills mean more XP), but that's not the case with quests.

And here's the other thing I learned: while killing a gray mob grants no XP at all, gray quests do give XP, but it drops for every level the quest is gray to you. That number is determined by this formula-- gray quests are 5 or more levels below you, and the XP you receive drops as your level rises.

Here's something to remember for 60's in the Burning Crusade... rested XP will start again - get into those Inns!

If you are already level 60 and have been for awhile, you will not start with rested experience. However, as you begin to level from 60 to 70 (provided you have activated the Burning Crusade expansion) you will begin accumulating rested experience again the same as you normally would. So if you've been used to camping out wherever and whenever, you might want to work to break that habit and start camping out at Inns again.
