Here's a taste of this weeks version of GuildWatch. The full thing after the jump... A strange tale of almost-drama from Drak'Thul-A. Khaos Society is a guild that is just starting to take down Gruul, while Blood Moon Clan is a guild that has Kara on farm, but hasn't rounded up enough to go to Gruul. So Khaos was eight people short on a Gruul run, and they invited BMC folks to go with them. Unfortunately, Khaos' lost lambs showed up before the raid started, so KS kicked the BMC folks to let their guildies in. That means drama right there, right? Wrong-- BMC talked with KS, and the two guilds decided, instead of fighting, to merge into Blood and Khaos. They've got the people and the raiders now to head into the higher content. Good for them.

Curse have launched a new World of Warcraft database, and there is already a bit of drama around it being too familiar to WoW Head... Kevin Van Ness, Content and Community Manager for Curse, has officially responded to us, saying that he recognizes the similarity between the two sites, and says it's the result of the creator, who had previously been working on a Lord of the Rings Online database that was also very similar to Wowhead, creating a design that was "very much inspired by Wowhead." (WoW Insider notes that it is up to Wowhead, the originators of the design, to decide whether it is a result of inspiration or a blatant ripoff.)
Van Ness also points out that the WOWDB design includes a number of unique features, and says that Curse will implement more in the future.
On the subject of WoWWiki, Van Ness says that Curse entered an agreement with WoWWiki to create a portal to the wiki via their site, and it is WoW Insider's belief that their use of WoWWiki content on WOWDB falls not under any "exclusive contract agreement," but under the standard Wikia Terms of Use, which allow any site to reprint Wikia content, as long as it is sourced, credited and licensed appropriately.

Some fairly juicy stuff in the latest Guild Watch, I suggest that you check it out. Sample: We reported on Team sYn of Malfurion a while back-- their GL passed off duties to a friend, who then passed them back and caused the guild to disintegrate. All we've got this week is a little more detail on what he did when he came back-- apparently there was a pair in the guild that got promoted to officer status, and that spun a lot of people the wrong way. So lesson (if there even is one, other than don't reinvite an old GL who's already left the guild): be careful who you promote to officer.

Some alright stuff in the New Years edition of Guild Watch, although I wanna hear more stuff of ninja'ing etc! Here's a sample: An anonymous tipster tries to set the record straight on the Kryptonite on Draka-H drama we reported on a few weeks ago: apparently the person wanting to start their own raid wasn't just rolling their own raid-- they were trying to steal members of other raids to do it. It wasn't a time argument-- our tipster passionately argues that the person "wanted to take members from other teams already raiding with each other." Clearly unacceptable. Right? I'm confused now.

Where's all the drama gone? Here's another pretty demure version of the weekly Guild Watch over at WoW Insider. Wyrm from EU Bladefist says he wants to apologize to his guild-- they probably think he's a ninja. He joined a little while back, and went with them to Karazhan, even winning Light's Justice (with a roll of +1 over a Druid). Unfortunately, he then shipped off to university, and found that they had banned all online gaming. He apologizes to his guild-- he's not really a ninja, just unlucky.

Here's the latest version of Guild Watch. They linked to a site I didn't know about - www.wowbash.com - that is actually more funny to read.

Some OK stuff in Guild Watch this week, including some Ninja going around on the Nerz'hul server. That's always funny.

Some OK stuff in Guild Watch this week I guess, nothing juicy though. I didn't read the whole thing!

Only an OK Guild Watch this week... there are a few links to drama in forums but not much. Here's a sample: We're hearing bad stuff about the Alliance side on Twisting Nether in terms of raiding-- not only is the server population falling, but the top end guilds are migrating away to other servers, leaving the leftover guildies without great DPS to get things done with. Our tipster says it's basically a training ground server-- get up to Karazhan on TN, and then get recruited to another server.

Here's the link to this weeks WoW Insider Guild Watch. It's OK.

The good drama returns to WoW Insiders Guild Watch this week, make sure you check it out. Here's a sample: Drama from Azjol-Nerub-H: Crimson Lotus and Malus Lepus merged together into Centzon Totochtinan exodus started (lots of ML folks have joined a guild named Fleh). Rumor is that CT is not long for this world (of Warcraft). a while back, but the merger is falling apart, we hear. First, a member named Ras "went insane on the forums," (not sure what that means-- whatever he did must be behind a password) and then

Good Guild Watch from WoW Insider this week, here's a sample: I think this is the first "girl drama" tip we've had from the girl who supposedly caused the drama. "Apparently," says our tipster, "I'm a flirt, and cute," and her "outgoing personality" caused a lot of male guild members to spend time following her around, jumping on vent to speak with her, and so on. One day, she logged on to find out that she'd been /gkicked, because the GM supposedly believed she was singlehandledly keeping them from raid progressing. The joke's on him, though-- after she was kicked, people started quitting when they found out she wasn't around any more, and the entire 125 person guild fell apart. "I'm wondering," she says, "if it is possible for one woman to be the complete downfall of a guild." Well, is it?

The drama returns with this weeks Guild Watch. Here's a sample: Sweet, sweet couples drama. Vicarious of Uldaman-A was rolling right along-- up until a woman named Magenta /gkicked someone during an argument, and it made people so angry that they /gquit in protest. Apparently the person /gkicked got invited back into the guild, and Magenta wasn't having none of that, so she took her husband with her and left the guild and the server. Then, the guild leader decided to skip out on the guild (with the guild bank, his alt, in tow), and it was default guild drama apocalypse from there-- core raider started skipping town left and right, and eventually the person placed in charge of the guild after the GL left, Galford, disbanded the whole thing, and people logged in to find themselves guildless. They're picking up the pieces-- apparently they're reformed as Alliance Underground, and are looking for another Alliance guild to merge with and run the post-Kara game. If you've got a guild on Uldaman-A, I'd take 'em-- at least you know they won't /gquit out and transfer servers on you, right?

Is World of Warcraft unethical? The Sydney Morning Herald seems to think so... Developers should provide activities that interest players "rather than stringing them along with little pieces of candy so that they'll suffer through terrible game play, but keep playing because they gain levels or new items", he says.
