How sick are you of Blizzard reusing previous armor models? It's not look we aren't paying them enough!

Yes, some of the earlier armor models in The Burning Crusade were modified versions of tier 1 and 2 armor, but tiers 4, 5, and 6 are all brand new armor models and stand out as a strong accomplishment for the players who have them.

We have previously stated that we may re-use the tier 3 art models for the new version of Naxxramas. This was mainly because the armor models really fit the dungeon they were coming from and look really awesome.

Will we modify other tiers of armor and use them in Wrath of the Lich King? It's possible, but I am also confident that new armor sets will be made ... and I will be drooling over them as usual. :)

Don't expect 8 piece armor sets coming back... this Blizzard poster makes a great point on why 5 piece sets are ideal.

The problem with a big 8 piece armor set is that it may cause someone to ignore an item that would be great for them as they are focused on the specific items that will get their set bonus. With the 5 piece sets, players are able to mix and match pieces to fit their style of play better or even help out for the specific encounter they are at.

Armor pics from season 3 of the Arena... nothing special.
Mages have had their season 2 armor changed.... more stats and less actual armor. Also, there appears to be two new flasks available. Full details after the jump.
Although they have been available for ages, the Tier 6 Armor sets are now available for you to check out on the official site...
Epic Veteran Armor reward (level 70) details are now up and available for you to check out on the official World of Warcraft site.

MMO Champion have done something every site should have by now, put all the high end armor on one page for you to check out!

They have everything from Tier 4 to the Arena Season 2 gear for all the different classes.

That's right, the season 2 pieces of the PVP Arena set are up on the public test realm. including details of the Twin Blades of Azzinoth.
World of Raids have the tier 6 armor stats for absolutely all classes - go check them out!
Video showing the new tier 6 armor for all classes. Check out the Warlocks armor especially - they always get the good stuff!
These are the tier 6 armor bonus stats. The numbers haven't been released but someone these people managed to extract the facts and figures from current game files. The numbers will most likely change by the time the 2.1.0 patch is released!

Priests are set to get a hotfix that will allow them to wear the Gladiator shoulder and head armor pieces.

Blue poster Tseric announced on the WoW Forums a little hotfix that should correct the ability grants of the Gladiator's Satin Hood and the Gladiator's Satin Mantle. Heads up, Priests!

It was discovered that these two items only granted pure healing capabilities rather than a combination of damage and healing bonuses. Even though he claimed this was only discovered at the Public Test Realm, the fix may be applied to active realms. This hasn't been confirmed yet, however.

Someone asks a reasonable question - can we get some sort of slight honor refund on used PVP gear that we want to upgrade? Blizzard replies probably not, as you would have used it to PVP anyway and theoretically amass for honor faster.

Did you not use that set to PvP? Is it not probably playing at least some role in your ability to acquire the level 70 set? It seems like you have and are still going to get a lot of use out of it. Not getting a refund on your used items doesn't mean your efforts were wasted, or that the items didn't serve your ability to PvP.

Some Warriors are pissed that Paladins seem to be getting all the quality plate armor from quest rewards...

Now... maybe its just the whole idea that you remember things that dissapoint you more than things that please you... but it seems like at least 2/3rds of plate quest rewards I've encountered this far have been Paladin gear.

Blizzard wants your help to sort out armor set bonuses not being correctly applied

There have been a number of reports of set bonuses that are not being applied correctly.

We understand this bug, but because there are so many possible combinations of items we need more information before we can fix them all. We are currently in the process of investigating which armour sets are affected by this issue.

  • We are already aware of the issue with the following sets:
  • Black Dragonscale
  • Defiler's Plate
  • Defiler's Leather
  • Cenarion Rainment + Eye of the Beast
  • Devilsaur Armor
  • Field Marshal/Warlord's Vestment + Netherweave
